Nice, thick throw blanketVerified Buyer Reviewed by NSinDen from Colorado on Friday, March 18, 2016I ordered this and another blanket at Sierra from a maker called Fairbault Mills. This is a nice thick blanket, but it is a little scratchy. The Fairbault blanket is softer, but this is definitely thicker wool. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference. The tartan patterns on these are definitely nice looking and are a classic style, and it is clearly a blanket that will last for many years.

Heavy but not that softReviewed by X from NYC on Sunday, January 17, 2016This is a heavy blanket and generously sized, but it's not as soft or cozy as another lambswool throw I have. The color is true to the picture. Would probably be good over a sheet or a comforter for extra warmth but I'm looking for something to cuddle under on the couch and this isn't it. I ordered a different one that I hope will be softer and will probably return this one.

Unlike this blanket, which is made in India, they were milled in Scotland of UK wool. That said, this blanket is a generous 6'x4.5' size, like the Scottish blankets, and feels only a little thinner. You can nap with the blanket pulled up around your shoulders without your feet ending up out in the cold, as with so many "throw" blankets these days. We ordered the Wallace tartan pattern for the Wallace side of our family and found the color and plaid pattern to be accurate. The wool is "fluffy" and not flat and very soft (not scritchy). We are buying two more as gifts for the future!
