Buy One Size Up From Usual Pant Size, Two Sizes Up to Wear Over LayersReviewed by Bobby from SC from Lexington, SC on Tuesday, January 29, 2019My buddies Carhartt overalls have a tag inside that says "Buy one Size up from your usual Pant Size, or Two Sizes Up to wear over Layers". He wears a 36 and his Bibs are size 40 as he wears over clothes. I was concerned with sizing. I normally wear a 35x32...i know odd size. 34s get to slim, 36 are usally good to slightly oversize. Well I got a 36x32 and it fits about perfect. I think the most layers I will have on under would be a compression pant style base layer and a tshirt/ Long sleeve. If i was going to wear any more, I would up opt for the size 38.
I bought these mainly as secondary hunting brush pant. My Under Armour brush pants have performed great the last 6 years but I've always wanted a set of Carhartt's as my next pair. I originally intended to just get pants and not overalls but the amount of pockets really caught my eye. These are going to be very useful from carrying extra shot shells to working on the car.
I haven't found why mine are 2nds yet; that along with quality and price make these a 5 star purchase. -

Built tough, and I can't find why they are considered to be factory seconds. Make sure to order a size or two up if you want them to be a little loose around the middle. I normally wear 38 jeans, but ordered a 40 in these and they fit comfortably.

Misleading descriptionVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Western North Carolina on Sunday, May 21, 2017From the description - "rugged protection for your lower half on tough jobs", it sounded like these overalls had double front and double back legs which I thought would be worth extra money for when I'm running a chipper. The "back leg kick panels" is merely the cuff at the bottom, not the back of the calf or thigh. Next time I will pay for the double front and not the "rugged protection for lower half". Carhartt is a great product and the overalls are still well made, just a little misleading in the description.
