5.0 out of 5 stars. Best Overalls...EVER!

I wear overalls every day and have all my life...and I am pretty picky about what I prefer. I can safely say that these overalls will now be the only style I will buy from now on. The difference in these over the standard Carhartt overalls may be minor, but they make a big difference.
1. The zipper bib pocket...no more phones going into the lake when you lean over the side of the boat to net the fish.
2. The cargo pockets...more storage!
3. The sides open lower (much like traditional older bib overalls), you can open the sides and properly ventilate.
4. A longer zip fly (previous styles just didn't seem to zip down far enough).
5. The chap styling with carstrong fabric - you can walk through stickers!
6. Roomier crotch - these may not have the gusset, but they are roomy!
7. Weathered duck fabric feels like my older bibs...after they've been washed 20 times!
8. Back leg kick panels are great.. especially since that feature was normally only available on insulated bibs. Nice to have the extra strength there.

The only con I can think of is that I wish the front pockets were a little "deeper", but honestly they are fine. Guess I am a little spoiled with deep pockets on my other bibs that were made out of firehose.

When I first got the bibs and tried them on, I didn't want to take them off to wash them! The funny thing is I bough these to work in, and now I drag out my old denim bibs to get messy and wear these "double barrel overalls" when I go to town.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Buy One Size Up From Usual Pant Size, Two Sizes Up to Wear Over Layers
Reviewed by Bobby from SC from Lexington, SC on Tuesday, January 29, 2019
My buddies Carhartt overalls have a tag inside that says "Buy one Size up from your usual Pant Size, or Two Sizes Up to wear over Layers". He wears a 36 and his Bibs are size 40 as he wears over clothes. I was concerned with sizing. I normally wear a 35x32...i know odd size. 34s get to slim, 36 are usally good to slightly oversize. Well I got a 36x32 and it fits about perfect. I think the most layers I will have on under would be a compression pant style base layer and a tshirt/ Long sleeve. If i was going to wear any more, I would up opt for the size 38.

I bought these mainly as secondary hunting brush pant. My Under Armour brush pants have performed great the last 6 years but I've always wanted a set of Carhartt's as my next pair. I originally intended to just get pants and not overalls but the amount of pockets really caught my eye. These are going to be very useful from carrying extra shot shells to working on the car.

I haven't found why mine are 2nds yet; that along with quality and price make these a 5 star purchase.

We've been looking for YEARS for a pair of high quality bibs at an affordable price. Found. Accomplished. They look great! Fit great. Just wish there were more sizes in different lengths, but not a problem because I hemmed them!

A lighter pair of bibs but that doesn’t bother me because they’re a lot cooler with all the walking during my pheasant hunts. These bibs a have a lot more pocket options than my prior pair of carharrts. I would definitely get another pair.

Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit.
