Even though it is only about 96% merino wool, it is exactly what I was looking for. Bought it for a trip that I'm planning, but I figured I would try wearing it to see if it lives up to its reputation. Wore it for a run, and it was soaked with sweat. It dried and still smelled a little like that fresh wool smell, but no odor from my run. Wow, rinsed it in the sink and hung it up to dry. Then I wore it again, and it looks good and still does not stink. Tempted to see how long I can do this!! Love this shirt. Fits well, and looks good. The colors go well with others. Material feels different, but it is not itchy. Wish they had more of these. Will buy more Icebreakers.

All the usual merino benefits: wicking, temp regulating, soft, durable, etc. the stipe pattern is nice for me because it breaks up my tattoos so you can't see them through the shirt; normally merino wool this thin is somewhat see-through.
Fit is normal, I'm 6'1", 180lbs, athletic, large fits fine, a little loose. I may get medium in the future because I'd rather tight fit with how stretchy this fabric is, but large works well enough. Shoulder seem is on top so I wouldn't recommend for backpacking, but awesome for the gym, casual, or for shorter day hikes where pack weight isn't heavy. -

I do hope it goes away after washing.
Other than that it has a nice feel and weight. -

They take up little space when packing, they don't need to be washed every day, and they are warm when wet yet cool in the heat. I prefer them when bicycling to all that flashy stuff they want to sell us for the purpose. It was true to size.

They're soft and warm in the winter, and don't get soggy during hot weather. The length and fit are much better than the average cotton T.

With age comes the wisdom to buy the stuff that works, and the knowledge you get what you pay for. Like Simms waders, good sunglasses and these t-shirts. I'm 5-9, 175lbs, 36 waist, 44 chest, with the extra ten pounds some of us wake up with one day. XL fits perfect on the chest and arms, with enough drape to not form-fit and highlight the roll on the stomach. Have two of these in grey with aqua stripes, grey with pink. The grey color is on the lighter side and will reflect the summer sun, unlike darker colors.
