Both of these lasted 6-7 years with about 40 days use per year. They eventually started leaking around the ankles, but did not show much wear. I think this is the best that can be expected from about any wader. These RioGallegos waders look more durable than the old ones I had and fit a lot better through the torso and feet. I really like the padded knees.

Best chest wader I have ever hadVerified Buyer Reviewed by big5safari from Alaska on Wednesday, July 20, 2016After receiving Patagonia Rio Gallegos Zip front chest waders 2 weeks ago I have spent 5 days on Kenai River in Alaska, spending anywhere from 4 to 8 hours per day in waist to chest deep water. The wader kept me dry and comfortable all throughout. I can't vouch for its longevity yet but hoping this wader will last. According to Patagonia sizing chart, M long would have been a better fit for my 6'2", 175 lbs body. However, when I ordered the wader, the only size that was left that might work was S/M long. I ordered it thinking if it's too tight then I can always return it. I was pleasantly surprised to find S/M long fit me quite nicely with a plenty of room for me to wear layers underneath to keep me comfortable. I would recommend this wader without any hesitation, specially with STP price point with their 25% off coupon.

These are Patagonia's flagship waders, so they are naturally an amazing set of waders. These are very comfortable. I actually forget that I am wearing them at when in the water. They are a bit heavier (weight-wise) than I like for summer fishing, but wet wading is usually my go-to for summer fishing anyway. This is also due to the rugged construction, which appears virtually indestructible. Built in knee pads are fantastic as well, and are not even noticed until you're kneeling on them. I'm really looking forward to heavy use during fall and spring, which these seem ideally suited for.
I am 5'10, 200LB with a medium build. I ordered Medium King after a lot of research and reviews from other customers. The fit with these is a little loose in the chest area, but should be just about perfect with fall/spring gear once the temps drop below 50 or so. The neoprene booties seem to fit my size 10.5 foot perfectly using my size 11 Korkers Metalhead. -

Excellent fit and FeaturesVerified Buyer Reviewed by SnapT from Maine on Wednesday, February 17, 2016I got the M/L in these waders and they are a spacious fit up top (enough for layering in the cold, but not too baggy) and a good fit through the legs. For reference, I'm 6'2" and about 175lbs. The build on the waders is of excellent quality, and the wool-lined booties are superbly warm. The knee pads are also a nice touch, and are not intrusive during normal hiking.
All in all, I'm very pleased with these. I put high expectations on my gear, and these deliver the quality you would expect from high end Patagonia products. They should prove to be an excellent, durable wader! -
