5.0 out of 5 stars. Great tights for cool WX biking

I have worn Pearl Izumi for years. I am 5'7" and 137 # 57 y/o. I ordered a M. I bike 2-3 days a week. These fit well in leg length, warm for 40's and 50 degree days. These ELITE have the thermal fleece, which are nice so I don't have joint pain, these also have a great sham. These tights fit nice just under the belly button, and don't feel like they are falling low off your tush!

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great tights for cold temps

I've owned a couple prior PI winter tights that did the job, but these are more comfortable and kept me warmer in below freezing temps. I'm 5'3, 125 lbs and the size small fit well.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great fit, excellent chamois, warm cycling

Love the low rise waist and how the material is more protective and more warm in front with more cooling material on sides. Definitely designed by a cyclist, it allows one to stay warm riding down the road, yet allows cooling from perspiration. Zippers work great. Launders well.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. weird fit!

I've never worn cycling pants but these fit very strangely....high in back but very short in the front. I returned them

Just like all of the Pearl Izumi clothes, these tights are high quality and well made. They fit a little funny when I first put them on. I think that is because of the way they are sewn at the knee. After I had worn them around the house, they stretched to fit me and I really like them. The chamois is their Elite line and very nice. Very warm tights.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Odd fit, and I think there are better options out there

I've been riding in 30 and 40-degree weather in a pair of Peal Izumi Sugar cycling shorts with a pair of North Face Windstopper Isotherm tights over them and have been very comfortable with this system. But I love those North Face pants so much that I was worried about wearing them out biking, so I ordered these Pearl Izumi thermal tights in hopes of wearing these instead. I'm 5'8" and about 130 lbs and got a medium, which is what I wear in other Peal Izumi bike shorts, but these pants just fit strangely. They seem to be long enough, but I think my knee hits in a spot other than where the knee was designed to be and they don't feel right. They're also not anywhere near as warm (or comfortable) as my existing system, so back they go!

About Pearl Izumi

Before Kinji Shimizu created the first Pearl Izumi cycling apparel, he spent nearly seven days a week on his bike delivering 90 pounds of clothes to customers. He frequently pedaled 38 miles a day. Years later, after his son received a special Italian-made cycling jersey, Kinji was inspired to start creating his own using the best fabrics he could find. The result soon evolved into the Pearl Izumi brand. In the five decades since, the company Kinji founded has continued working hard to make the best gear possible for dedicated athletes and weekend warriors. From incredibly lightweight Pearl Izumi shoes to sleek, comfortable Pearl Izumi running apparel, few other brands have the same relentless drive toward innovation as Pearl Izumi.
