5.0 out of 5 stars. Great socksVerified Buyer Reviewed by AJ from Oregon on Monday, October 9, 2017Love these! The color, the fit, the soft fabric. They stay up all day and don't slouch. They are padded in great places for extra comfort. The colors are beautiful. In no way can I tell they are "imperfect."

5.0 out of 5 stars. Smartwool PhD socksVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Arkansas on Monday, July 25, 2016Although marked an irregular, I found a few threads sticking on the outside. A very good buy for a sock with an unusual pattern.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love this sockVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Minnesota and visits to the West! on Saturday, May 21, 2016Love this sock. Fits my wide foot. looks like it shrunk when washed, but then fits just right. Thick sock so fits better with some shoes than other. I like the comfort of the padding.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Wish I would have bought another pair.Verified Buyer Reviewed by DJB from MN on Wednesday, April 13, 2016Huge SmartWool fan, so I knew they wouldn't disappoint. I love how high they come up. Shorter than a crew, higher than an ankle sock. Great socks and cute.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Very tight around the topVerified Buyer Reviewed by NoNonsenseRN from Southern New England on Monday, April 11, 2016I have super skinny toothpick legs and these socks are quite tight around the top; I have to fold down the top edge so that it doesn't dig into my lower calf. Can't imagine that anyone with large ankles would even be able to pull them on. However, the sock has lots of room, cushioning, and softness in the foot portion.... I have size 10 narrow feet and bought size Large.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Snug, but they workVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Virginia on Friday, March 25, 2016These socks are snug and aren't thin, but aren't padded. Colors are true. These are probably best for cold days, but not hiking high-mileage for consecutive days.

5.0 out of 5 stars. great light hikersVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from California on Tuesday, March 22, 2016This is my 3rd pair of PhD light hikers - the others have lasted several years. They are super durable and provide just enough padding for hiking without being too thick. I like this weight for year-round in California. I wear women's size 7.5 shoes, and the M fit perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Not too shortVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Connecticut on Tuesday, March 8, 2016I was worried these would be uncomfortable because of the height as PhDs tend to squeeze the calves a bit, but I think it might actually be an improvement. PhDs are my go-to for long field days at work and mountain hikes. The first thing to wear is always the heel, but it does take quite some time.
