3.0 out of 5 stars. Not a backcountry pantVerified Buyer Reviewed by TahoeJoe from Tahoe on Sunday, January 29, 2017These pants don't have insulation (which is what I wanted), but the inner lining is a pretty thick material and so they are much heavier than my TNF gore-tex pro pants. I wore them around the house to get a feel for their breathability and they seemed great -- my legs did not start feeling clammy like they can in some cheaper "waterproof/breathable" pants I have. The leg openings are quite flared, more so than any other ski pants I have (moreso than one would expect by looking at the picture). There is no velcro/elastic waist tightener like many ski pants have, but the belt loops seem fully capable of taking some pressure. My biggest complaint is the pockets -- Marker made them out of a fairly heavy nylon material and so they block the breathability that Polartec NeoShell professes. If I decide to keep these pants I think I will cut the pockets and re-sew them to be a much smaller size so they interfere less with the breathability.
