I ordered a large, I am a larger person so I expect some ride up in the crotch. I have other 3 inch shorts with a liner and I don't have to pull fabric down every tenth of a mile. Pockets were roomy, but did their own amount of traveling. The bottom of the pocket showed up under the ride up. Also there is no string to tighten the waistband.

The material is light and breathable. The length is great: long enough for this 5' 8" 41-year-old body to not feel underdressed, but not so long that they get in the way. I normally wear a "curvy" size 6, and the size small fits me well.

I'd tried a few replacement items but they were either too short or too flimsy. These were perfect! Even bending over, I didn't feel overexposed (I'd typically purchased large size even though I'm a 4) with the medium size. The pockets make you look a little "hippy" but a small price to pay for comfort and coverage.

The size M in these won't work-too loose in the legs, odd fit for me-size 10, 145#. I think they'd be good for running but not for my purposes. Material is thin, and lightweight, well made. I would recommend them, but not for me.
