It is neither magenta nor burgundy, but a beautiful deep cranberry red--just a gorgeous color. I keep pulling it out just to look at it. Otherwise, it is a nice but unexceptional top, quality looks good, fabric is nice and smooth, medium weight. I'd say it's true to size, as it fits over my size-16 middle comfortably but is too large around my size-14 bust. I can't see why it's a second (at least not so far).
