They keep my feet warm, even in ventilated running shoes - I can walk in 30 degree weather for over an hour and return with toasty feet. I still can't figure out where the "2nds" part is. I love that there's no bumpy stitching across the toes to irritate.

These are thicker than the light hikers I like best. I can only wear them with one pair of my shoes. They are nice socks if you have roomy shoes. Very cushioned. I was surprised as others were by the big stamp than says imperfect on the label. Luckily, I got them for myself.

This new style with the additional padding under the ball of the foot and extra in the heel, but considerably less above the ankle, is excellent for those long days hiking in the woods. As long as you take care of them wash-wise (and not let a dog use it as a chew toy) they hold up considerably well. (I've already put 30 miles on mine and plan on another 50 more before the end of the year on just these socks.

I have a medium sized calf and a small ankle. There was too much elastic in the crew part of the sock. I will wear them for short periods.

Not super thick, but decent weight. The crew stays up and the footbed is great. No tugging to get them on. Just a great pair of outdoor sox.
