Required very little to no break in time. Sizing is a bit off... too large by almost 1/2 a size. Not too big to warrant returning them at this point. They look nice.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. First impressions, error in description.

    Notes:

The leather is of good quality, and well finished. Right out of the box the shoes are stiff, but don't feel boardy and the finish does not wrinkle or crease like split leather.

The stitching appears to be of very good quality.

One error: The brogueing is embossed, not perforated.

The width is true to size. They felt a touch long at first, but not enough to be objectionable, and being good leather, these shoes will need to be broken in to achieve the final fit.

After an hour of wearing, I can tell these are going to be good shoes.

About Timberland

The Timberland footwear brand was officially launched in 1973, more than two decades after founder Nathan Swartz bought an interest in an established shoe company. Eight years earlier, the Swartz family had introduced injection-molding technology to the footwear industry. Today, this revolutionary manufacturing process is still being used to fuse the soles and uppers of Timberland boots without stitching, a process that allows for truly waterproof boots. Over the years, Timberland shoes and boots have continued to advance, incorporating modern features like Active Comfort Technology to provide a balance of cushioning, support and climate control. In 2008, Timberland also became the first footwear company to commercialize the use of rubber from recycled tires.
