Great fit and length. He uses these for work. There were none in New Zealand so had to buy overseas. Thanks to you he now has back up pairs. Yay.

The stretchy material allow for excellent range of motion despite the snugger fit. They also run smallish -- like the waist size indicated is the maximum size, so err on the large size. Velcro waist tabs allow for a tighter waist fit if needed but the size indicated is with the Velcro tabs in the extended setting.

If DaKine's logo wasn't so visible, you could wear them as casual wear. Actually, I take that back...you still could for the comfort alone. The 4 way fabric stretch is amazing. Light, & strong...with a longer inseam that covers/hides my boney knees. Others have critiqued the 'fake' rear pocket flaps, well...they ARE biking shorts. They are there I believe to add some strength & keep structure integrity of the garment. In any event, hardly a deal breaker in my opinion. The rear black accent just below the beltline is a stretchable mesh that along with the small zippered leg vents, give nice ventilation. The green ones I got are a bright, Kelly green...maybe not everyone's favorite but I like them but then I actually bought them for--Biking not for fashion!

Rather pricey too.
