We have had good experiences with Hi-Tec boots and thought we would give these a try. Upon arrival, the sandles appeared sturdy and quite stiff. They fit as expected and the synch strap allowed for a snug fit. Wearing the sandals around the house, they broke in quickly and were comfortable. Our first two experiences with light hiking were also positive. On the trail, they provided general support and comfort, with the toe cover was a benefit for protection against stubbing. While creek stomping, they were very good. They are waterproof and provided traction on slick rocks and sand/silt stream beds. This week they are going to Boy Scout camp, so we will have a better picture of quality and durability soon.

After finally wearing those out, I was excited to find these at a great price from STP. The sandals are made well and feel comfortable on the sole (my arches are picky). I am generally a size 10.5, so I ordered up as recommended. The sandals, however, are true to size, and feel a half size too big. They can be tightened sufficiently around the ankle, but not the straps near the toe guard, so they flop just a little on the end of my feet. I am hoping they might soften a little with age so the straps can be pulled tighter. That said, they are still a nice sandal, and for the price I paid I think I can get good use from them tidepooling and at the beach, but I won't be wearing them regularly for other activities. If your feet are a whole size, you will probably like these sandals a lot more.

They like them, and although they haven't had much of a chance to wear them yet (we live in the land of eternal winter, haha) it looks like they will hold up well.
