I bought these pants to hike in February in the Grand Canyon and needed something wind-proof and water-proof that wasn't insulated so that I would not be too hot while hiking. They have been great! They also work well in very cold weather because the fit allows a base layer. I have tested them hiking in WI in single digit weather and I was not cold nor too hot. The vents along the entire side also allowed me to wear them inside without getting too warm. On top of this, they were very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend these pants!
