I did go one size up, I normally wear an 8/M, but decided to try the larger size, 10. They fit well on the hips and butt, and there is plenty of room in the legs. I prefer a more relaxed fit anyways, and would recommend going up a size if you have larger hips and butt. I think the size 8 would have fit closer in the legs, but would have been too tight in the hips. I like the looser look, they are like cargo pants!
