Khombu Serina Quilted Lace-Up Boots - Waterproof, Insulated (For Women)

These are boots that can keep my feet dry when I take shelter dogs out into high wet grass or on a muddy trail with enough traction to grip whatever surface I am on. These have been grippy on a steep loose shale strewn trail and kept my feet dry mucking across soggy dirt and grass trails after rains. The best part though is the comfort of the boot. Absolutely no break-in time! The waterproof quilted material is soft and forgiving and the lace-ups mean I can cinch it snug to my foot or leave it loose, more like a pull-on style boot. And part of the comfort for me, is that it is a loose wide fit across the toe box (bunions) with very little arch support and the bottoms of the shoes are not stiff or highly cushioned. Others have complained about this, but for me I prefer that my feet can feel the surface, so a less structured foot bed is my preference. I wear 61/2-7 and bought the 7 and can wear with thin or thicker socks.

I am a regular size 9M - always. Even if considering these a winter boot (something to be worn with thick / extra socks) and not just a stylish shoe, these are not true to size. The boots need to be a half size smaller to be true to size. Half sizes are not offered by Sierra Trading Post. Too bad.

These arrived just before an unexpected foot of snow hit my town and stuck around for a week or so. I live in the Pacific NW where they don't plow, so i did a lot of walking in these straight out of the box. They were comfortable and kept my feet warm and dry. They were better than average on slippery sidewalks. They only time I ran into trouble was when the snow was deeper than the boots and some crept in the top, but that is not the fault of the boots. I wear a size 9 and ordered a size 9 which fit well with room for wool socks. The laces make them very adjustable for tightness, too. I originally got them to use for apres ski boots and they will be great for that. Not sure how they would be in the rain, but they stayed dry in heavy deep snow. There isn't much in the way of obvious arch support, but somehow my high arched feet didn't hurt or get tired while walking in these for miles.

Comfortable and warm at a great price! Perfect for everyday wear.

I wear size 6 and ordered size 7 after reading reviews - boot fit great with lightweight socks.
