It keeps my core warm and is breathable along the extremities. Probably not ideal if you're just going to be sitting somewhere. I've worn this in 40 degree weather and been quite comfortable. Good, deep zippered pockets and hood are great touchs. I'm 5'7", 130lbs and the small fit perfect.

It was short in the torso, although it didn't seem to ride up when I lifted my arms. I returned it because I couldn't see it being warm enough to wear as an outer layer and I would rather use a longer and more flexible base layer.
