Ellen Tracy Outerwear Soft Shell Jacket (For Women)

To begin, I don't think this is the coat for me... I usually wear a down puffy but my old coat was pretty torn and taped so I was looking for something not as bulky, longer, and able to withstand the rigors of a puppy who likes to bite. I ordered this coat in a large (I am 5'6' and about 145 lbs). It fit perfectly in the shoulders but the body of the coat was pretty billowy - meaning too big. I think a medium could have worked but I thought the shoulders would have been too restricting. So I thought I'll just wear a thinner coat under this coat but that was too bulky and my arms felt trapped. I liked the pockets (very deep pockets). The coat was not that warm especially compared to my old puffy. It looks nice and would probably do well in a less cold environment. I live in Wyoming. I did not send it back because I took the tags off so I will probably try to sell it since I won't be wearing it. This seems like a great coat for a less harsh climate. I ended up buying a different puffy and this is hanging in the hall closet. The quality is good just not made for a Wyoming winter.

This is a very comfortable soft shell coat. It's lightweight and warm for mild rainy days. I really like the longer length! Well made.

My coat came at a time when there was snow on the ground and temperatures in the low thirties. Wearing this coat with gloves, hat and snow boots suited me well and I get cold easily. I like the coat because it keeps me warm without becoming overheated and it is long enough that if chose to wear it over a dress it would be fine too.

I purchased this coat for my traveling job. It doesn't wrinkle, has extra room for winter clothing/sweaters, and looks sleek. The fleece lining is very soft.
