4.0 out of 5 stars. A little Heavy, but worth it!

My husband and I both have one of these and LOVE them! We upgraded from the old self inflating thermarest that offered hardly any cushion from the ground if you lay on your back, and even less if you are a side sleeper! After enduring this on our 10 day backpacking trip in the Beartooth wilderness, we began to research our options. We found Big Agnes......and this pad is like sleeping on a cloud! Easy enough to inflate, depending on your elevation??(take a few deep breaths and the lightheadedness will fade, lol.)
The insulated version is a bit heavy at 1lb14oz, so if you go ultralight, it's probably not your best option, but I packed it for 18 miles and at the end of the day, boy was I happy to have it to lay down on that night......it was a game changer for me

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Don't waste your dollars

My friend and I each purchased one for a 6-day hike in the Grand Canyon. I've always used Thermarest's z-lite but after having trouble sleeping I decided to upgrade to something a bit cushier. I set the pad up twice at home to make sure it held air, which it did. It worked the first night of the trip just fine. By the second night it was semi-deflated within 3 hours and I woke up twice to re-inflate. By the third night it was totally deflated within an hour. I spent 4 nights of the trip sleeping on my crazy creek with a totally deflated "sleeping pad" on top. My friend's experience was even worse. Obviously this is not only an issue of comfort but also a safety issue! Had the temperature been any cooler for us we could've been in real trouble. I do not recommend at all.
