I almost bought a pair of Redwing boots, but I remember how slippery the soles get on the Redwings. I decided to give these a try. I normally wear a size mens US 8, and I ordered these in an 8 1/2, and they fit perfect. These are really comfortable shoes. I forgot they were on my feet after wearing them around the house for 20 minutes. I removed the elastic laces (somebodies bad idea), and put in the regular laces right away.
These shoe appear to be very well made, and I think the soles will be ok (not too slippery). -

I would not recommend them for walking around for any sustained period. They do not feel like the many pairs of Keens I have had in the past. Ditch the elastic laces, they are a pain and don't really add any convenience.

Laces provided in the shoes had to be removed as I couldn't get my foot in, but the second provided pair laces in easily.

I had to cut the lacing system installed off to even get my feet into the boots. Glad they supplied another set of laces for that purpose!
