4.0 out of 5 stars. Good boot, sturdy constructionReviewed by DallasMom from Texas on Tuesday, January 31, 2017This is the second pair of high hiking boots I tried from STP. The first pair I returned because they just weren't right. Mind you, I've always worn low boots, but given my age, I decided I needed some extra ankle support to prevent injuries. The first two days wearing these New Balance were OK. By the 3rd day, I was liking them. By the 4th day, I forgot to take them off after I was done "breaking them in" and wore them to the store. So I like them. I would not wear them out of the box on a major hike, however. These are very warm. That can be a good thing or a bad thing -- in Texas it means they'll be great for winter-spring, but I'll probably be wearing something else in the hot weather. I have not worn them in wet conditions so I can't speak to waterproofing but the soles, although not Vibram, appear to be stable and will provide good traction.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Decent pair of bootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Happy Feet from North Carolina on Wednesday, January 4, 2017These boots are cute and... mostly comfortable. I wore them out of the box over the Christmas holidays for some moderate hiking in NC. They are waterproof and in the damp weather that was a plus. They are true to size both in length and width (I wear an 8). My reasons for average rating are as follows: The right shoe rubs oddly on my upper foot even though I tried thick and thinner socks. The laces are a bit short which makes them difficult to double knot - something I ALWAYS do. Returns are a hassle and cost money so I will hang onto them. STP didn't have a huge selection in my price point (under $100) when I was looking. I figured New Balance with their sneaker background would have a comfortable shoes. To wrap it up, I would suggest others keep shopping rather than settling for this pair of uninspiring boots.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Looking GoodVerified Buyer Reviewed by DallasMom from Texas on Wednesday, December 28, 2016First: I added cheap insoles because there is no arch support. Second: I've figured out how to tie at ankle to not pinch my feet. So now I'm good with these boots. They are very warm thus far and completely block the wind. Toe box is roomy, which I like. They appear to be well constructed. (Too soon to tell.) I could not have worn right out of the box and have been breaking in for about 2 weeks but yesterday I forgot to take them off after a short walk -- so that's a good sign. I ordered up one-half size like I do for all my sports shoes and am happy I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great SupportVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hippy Lynda from Orlando, FL on Thursday, November 3, 2016I got these as I need to have an ankle replacement and am putting it off. These are so comfortable and provide great support. I wear a 7W in regular shoes, but ordered these in 8M. They are perfect. Plus, I feel like a 30 something!
