The size runs large: I bought size 5 for my daughter who currently wears a size 4 in running shoes. The boots looked big so I tried them on myself, I wear size 7 and my feet felt comfortable in the boots (not squished at toes). I hope these will last my daughter at least two years with several thick socks to start. I chose these boots because of the draw-string at top to help keep snow out, the waterproof layer that goes up to ankle, and the sale price.
