I have always done some sewing and do not see why these pants are described as "seconds". So, don't be afraid to purchase them for that reason.

They aren't as rugged/heavy as some other models of Carhartt pants so, as a remodeler, I go through a few pairs a year. To find these at such a great price was pretty exciting and I really can't tell where the "2nd" is on them. They do shrink in the dryer but loosen up quickly.

Wouldn't have purchased these otherwise. One inch sized hole that has been poorly repaired-reminds me of a bullet hole. These are going back.
