4.0 out of 5 stars. Rocket LauncherReviewed by Patrick from Ohio on Thursday, March 2, 2017Picked up the 12'6" 8 weight, I've tried a couple different heads on it, a 560 skagit extreme, a 580 Airflo skagit, 8/9 UST Bolt triple density and a 560 Scandi Extreme, they all work very well. The 580 felt a little bit heavy, but worked well with a lighter tip. The 560 skagit is a little shorter, easier to pull the anchor with a lighter tip, but t14 or t17 give it a bit more stick and really let you throw bombs. Both of the Scandi heads worked with touch and go casts and sustained anchor casts and cast impressive distances. Love the rod, only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's pretty tip heavy, reels that balance my 13'7" seven weight are too light, had to switch to a reel that I usually use on a 14' 9 weight

5.0 out of 5 stars. UnbelievableVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Any river on Thursday, February 2, 2017I had castes this rod in the past and fell in love with the action. Couldn't believe the deal I found on Sierra Trading Post - I had to pick it up and so glad I did for a west coast steelhead trip coming up
