5.0 out of 5 stars. Works for me.Verified Buyer Reviewed by retrogrouch from Tx on Friday, October 6, 2017Previous reviewer had a bad experience but this is the third unit of this model I have used
with no problem. I like to use the same computer on all my bikes so the controls remain the
same for all. Can't be STP prices! -
1.0 out of 5 stars. Plastic FailReviewed by N from Central Illinois on Saturday, May 20, 2017The electronics work fine.
The plastic parts, however, are garbage. The mount snapped the first time I used it. It seemed stupid to try to get an entire replacement because just one tiny brittle plastic part broke, and the computer itself was fine, so instead of complaining I actually bought a second one, to use on another bike that didn't need the mount, so I could use the mount from that package. Fine. Then the plastic screw that holds on the sensor broke during a ride, and the sensor fell off. (By the time I noticed I was half a mile away, but I was able to turn around and retrieve the sensor from the street.) No bike stores could replace the Cateye screw, but I was able to find a compatible metal metric screw at a good hardware store. Fine. A few weeks later, on another ride, the zip ties holding the sensor broke. The ZIP TIES. BROKE. That is some garbage plastic Cateye used for this product. It's too bad, because like I said the electronics work fine. If Cateye had spent maybe one penny more on plastic, I would have recommended this. Instead I'm just waiting for whatever tiny, irreplaceable plastic part will break next.
