Just not the same.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Texas on Monday, February 20, 2017I have a pair of Chilliwack Pants I bought a while ago, they are wonderful, best pants I have ever worn. I recently purchased two more pairs in different colors and as soon as I got them out I could tell something was different and not in a good way. The fabric on the newer version is not nearly as tough, much lighter weight, the cut is different, more flared at the bottom rather than a straight cut. The pockets and loops are of much lower quality than before. I am so disappointed, these were my go-to pants for a long time, but no more.

The material is heavy and I'm sure it would hold up to long hiking excursions. I did not check the sizing guide prior to ordering(shame on me). The XL is supposed to fit between a 38-40 I have a 40-41" waist and the pants were tight all over. As well as the waist being snug they rode much lower on the hips than I think a pair a hiking pants should ride. It could just be that my body type doesn't work with these pants. Such is the joy of ordering clothes online. thankfully STP has great customer service and the pants are on the way back for a return.

I wear 32 in other Kavu pants and these fit a little snug at the waist, but fit great through hip and plenty of leg movement b/c of the gusset. The size guide lists Small as 32 waist. If you are larger through the hips, go with Medium.
Love the material. Tough, but not too heavy. I don't see myself wearing them when the temp is above 75.
