My Keen Newports began to stink after wearing them a few times. Washing them in Nikwax prevents that from happening. The product itself has a strong floral scent, but it doesn't last long. The good effect seems to be cumulative. The more you wash with it, the longer the Keens smell fresh. I imagine this would have a similar effect on shoes like Keens.

There is perhaps only three or four loads per bottle. That being said, it does a great job at getting the stink out of synthetics so nice to have for that reason.

And sometimes the workout gear doesn't get dried out quickly and it ends up with a less than pleasant odor. This product does what it says it does, it helps to restore the wicking action and it truly takes the odor out of your clothes. If you can't hang your gear outdoors to break up the proteins that cause odor this is the next best thing. It works.,
