These are high quality but their Medium width was too narrow for me. If you have a foot width slightly narrow for a medium width, these may fit. I really wanted these to fit and after reading the pamphlet that came with the boots these are designed to fit like a glove preventing your foot from sliding forward causing your toes to contact the front on steep descents. The 10-1/2" length was accurate, with a little extra room up front. Maybe over time they would break in and if slightly wider, I would have endured an extended break in period. These are rugged boots and did not want to take the chance that they may never loosen up. Unfortunately, STP did not have the next size larger 10.5+ (44 EU) or larger which may have fit better out of the box. I used the STP excellent Exchange and Customer Service to exchange for Alico Belluno Hiking Boots, also listed as Made in Italy, though they do not appear to be a rugged as LaSportva. For years I typically used other lower cost boots having the soles and uppers wear out in a year or two losing traction and support always shuffling between several pairs matching them for the terrain depending on how worn out they were. Instead, I need one reliable pair of boots to use most all the time. I hope this review may help others.

Took on maiden voyage to the summit of Longs Peak. Performed great. Love them when scrambling! Lots of miles since Longs and still holding up great. Will update if they fail in the future.

These are wonderful. I've been wearing hiking boots for decades - these rate right up these. I give my boots a work out! I suspect longevity will be good too - highest quality - I love Italian made boots. That said, these run small - I ordered a half size larger than normal and it wasn't too much. I normally need a 10M - these were a 10.5M - could have used a wide if I were to wear heavy socks. Again light, fantastic and comfortable.

I got these for my husband as a birthday gift. He really likes them. He wears them to work everyday. He said they were a little stiff to break in but he is very happy with them. Point for me!!
