Madison Home Hand-Spun Jute Boucle Area Rug - 5’7”x7’11”

I ordered this rug, taking a chance that it would be worth the additional shipping fee... and it is. At double the price, this would still be an incredible value for a jute and coir rug (FYI it is not mentioned in the description, but the tag states "jute and coir"). The material is by no means "soft" or "plush", yet it has a beautiful smoothness to it due to the tightly woven construction. I have seen similar rugs for 3 to 5 times the cost of this one. I was so pleased the moment it came off the truck, even before removing the plastic I could tell it was a winner. I'm currently using it in the kitchen on top of hardwood floors where it provides great traction underfoot/barefoot thanks to the thick, nubby texture. If you like slightly rough-textured woven rugs of this material, you will not be disappointed. It's substantial, but also not too heavy to move and maneuver around the home. By contrast, I also took a chance on the other Madison jute rug that is currently offered: https://www.sierratradingpost.com/product/index/228np/?colorFamily=01&itemCode=228NP-01. I did not like that one at all. It was much less substantial and refined in construction and had many loose fibers that IMO would shed over time. It also had a green fiber wool yarn running throughout that was not at all apparent in the one photo that Sierra displays. Despite the same low price, I ended up returning that one and getting another of these jute rugs. Excellent purchase, highly recommended.
