My hubby generally wears a 9 or 9-1/2 depending on the type of shoe. I had to return the 9 for and 8-1/2 because they were too long. My husband has somewhat wide feet, so they worked well for him, but if you had narrow feet this may not be the right shoe for you. Kudos for the Sierra Trading Post return/exchange policy as well. : )
