5.0 out of 5 stars. cozy, great wind break

I purchased this coat in early November in MA, just in time for cooler, wetter, and windier weather. I really like that it is a good layering coat, I am 5'6" and wear a medium/large in women's clothes, I got a large coat. It is good for the cooler days on its own with a t-shirt underneath, but when it got really cold (low 30s and windy) I just added a sweatshirt and it was toasty. The best part is the wind breaking aspect. I expect when it starts to snow the coat will also repel water excellently, I've worn it in light rain and stayed dry.

The cuffs of the sleeves have elastic so your wrists stay warm. The coat can be cinched from the inside at the waist. There is a hidden pocket in the lining. The hand pockets have a fleecey lining to keep your hands warm. I like that the coat covers my butt completely.

About The North Face

Believe it or not, The North Face story didn’t begin on a high-altitude ascent. It actually began in San Francisco at less than 200 feet above sea level. However, what started as a neighborhood mountaineering shop has since evolved into an industry-leading, award-winning outdoor equipment and apparel brand. Since its inception more than 40 years ago, The North Face has grown to include clothing and gear designed for nearly every type of adventure, from alpine skiing to backpacking to trail running. Today, The North Face jackets and pants are chosen by world-class athletes, and The North Face rugged boots help carry explorers through the toughest terrain, from the icy slopes of Everest to Utah’s Green River basin.
