5.0 out of 5 stars. Grip & DryVerified Buyer Reviewed by Gnome Hunter from PA on Monday, February 26, 2018These boots will keep your feet secure to the terf & dry. The sticky soles grip wet rocks & sidewalks. The sole pattern self cleans so no carrying mud, snow debris indoors. Only negative comment is that these soles may also mark some floors. The fit is true to size with ample toe box room.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Stellar DealVerified Buyer Reviewed by Lazarus Long from Eastern Nebraska on Wednesday, February 21, 2018Unbelievable price on high performance footwear. The soles have perfect grip on smooth rock. Took them across a frozen inlet that had pockets of ankle deep standing water, crossing was slow going so I expected some nominal seeping. The GTX waterproofing was flawless, more effective than should be reasonably expected. These kicks are the chit. Sizing runs on the shorter end of the spectrum

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Shoe!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Sierra Nevada, California on Sunday, February 11, 2018I bought the low top, non-waterproof version of this shoe and was so impressed with the quality of construction and the ridiculously good grip on rock, that I went out and bought the mid-top, waterproof version for wet weather use. I could not be happier with the purchase. The widely spaced lugs on the sole provide excellent traction in muddy conditions and the sticky rubber grips to solid rock better than any Vibram soled boot I've ever owned. The only down side is that the sticky rubber tends to hold on to grime (mud clears the lugs just fine as you walk) and I keep tracking stuff into the house whenever I forget to take these shoes off at the door.
Some of the reviews I've read complained that this wasn't a great edging shoe for technical rock, and I can't argue with them. The shoe does run a little on the wide side (perfect if you have wider feet though) and the widely spaced lugs don't edge terribly well. BUT...honestly, this is a hiking/approach shoe. It was designed for hiking longer distances and scrambling around boulder fields to get to climbs, NOT actually climb technical rock. I suppose if your approach is nothing but rock and involves a few technical moves to get to the main climbing route, the Guide Tennie is probably the better candidate. But if you have to deal with loose dirt, mud, brush, boulders, and rock to get to where you are headed, this is a great shoe.
I've pretty much adopted these as my everyday light hiking shoe and love them so much I bought an extra pair (they were on sale) so I would be sure to have another pair when I wear the first ones out. The only addition you might want to add to these boots is an aftermarket insole to improve arch support and motion control. But I've never come across a shoe brand that gives you a really great insole from the start....

4.0 out of 5 stars. Good fit and gripVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mike L. from Vermont on Wednesday, November 22, 2017Impressive grip on sole via 5.10 stealth rubber compound. Fits true to size. Lightweight and a relatively thin mid-sole/forefoot; textures and rough terrain is easily felt which might get tiring over time.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice BootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by David from Virginia on Tuesday, November 21, 2017Price is right, Traction is good. Fit is wider than most shoes (EEish) so that is a plus for me. Looks and feels rather well made. My only caveat is that they rub or have a pressure point inside the boot by the upper end of the tongue, which may go away after break in or be alleviated with thicker socks.
