5.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable toe boxVerified Buyer Reviewed by Kurt from PA on Saturday, August 4, 2018Nice, mid-weight hikers - tougher than nylon fabric light-weight, but lighter than heavy duty boots. Width listed as medium, but not too narrow like many "medium" width boots - good room in the toe box. Ladder-style lacing is a little more work than simple criss-cross, but holds tightness well.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Spectacularly Un-waterproofReviewed by Anonymous from Boston area on Wednesday, June 27, 2018These are apparently well-made shoes with spectacular grip, particularly on wet rocks. However, this advantage is negated by how easily soaked they are, how uncomfortable they are when soaked, and how long they stay that way. They are not only un-waterproof, they are un-waterproofable with mink oil. What a disappointment.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Solid Lightweight Hiking BootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Ryder Buddy from New Jersey on Monday, June 25, 2018These boots are comfortable yet sturdy in a lightweight design. Haven't taken them for spin on trails yet but walkabouts around the yard in them so far make me a fan. Good price too.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Good hiking bootVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from North Vancouver on Monday, June 4, 2018I was looking at a few options and when I came across these five tens, I read some reviews and people talked highly about them. The price was great so I went for them & I put them for a test this past weekend. They are a bit on the heavy side but nothing crazy, and I know that's because of the sole. They are very grippy on dry surfaces and hold my ankle very nicely. The toe cover came in handy once or twice. If anything my only issue is that your foot can feel the laces when you bend your toes walking but you get used it it very quickly as it is not uncomfortable.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Lightweight in a good wayReviewed by Home for Wayward Trout from Oregon on Saturday, May 26, 2018The left toe of my 25 year old Zamberlans blew apart and I was looking for a new pair of lightweight Italian hiking boots. Because I expected to be able to repair the Zamberlans I didn't want to spend too much on a second pair of boots.
I settled on these Five Tens (which are not Italian and not full leather) and it was eye opening to me how lightweight the new boots can be. I used them last week for a week in Yosemite and they performed well. The soles are stickier than a vibram which is a welcome change. I doubt they will last 25 years but I doubt my hiking career will last that long either. My only negative criticism is that they don't breathe nearly as well as a high quality boot with an upper made from full leather inner and outer.
I expect that the Zamberlans will now be relegated to gardening and shoveling snow. They have gotten a little small over the last 25 years but they sure make good boots. -
3.0 out of 5 stars. Strange fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by Frosty Nomad from Florida on Monday, April 9, 2018Good looking boot. Sizes run strange. Typically I wear a 12; but in this model, the 12 was too large so I ordered an 11.5 which ended up being too small.
Not sure where to go armed with this information. -
2.0 out of 5 stars. shoes seemed poorly madeReviewed by Anonymous from Birmingham on Saturday, February 10, 2018Was looking for a mid-height hiking boot, and I ordered these based on reviews and price. Unfortunately, when I unboxed my pair of boots what I immediately noticed first was that the top of the right boot (part that laces up) was higher than the left. Further inspection showed some materials were not very well sewn together. The left and right boots didn't seem to be appropriately "symmetrical" with one another, if that makes sense. I even made sure they weren't different sizes. Since I had some other boots in the order, I didn't even try the 5-10's on. My daughter even noticed they seemed "messed up". This was my first experience with this brand and probably my last.

4.0 out of 5 stars. GrippyReviewed by Anonymous from Boston area on Wednesday, November 29, 2017The shoes are light, strong, and standard in fit. They are hard to lace on -- hooks would have been better than those diabolical plastic loops. They leak at the base of the tongues, which is too F. bad for a Nubuck shoe. They are very grippy on all terrains -- much grippier than Vibram -- and, since I am an old codger and recover slowly from falls, these are my main hiking shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Five ten camp fourVerified Buyer Reviewed by Tuckerman from Cool, ca on Sunday, November 26, 2017Very nice shoes but I sent them back because size I ordered was too big. They were unlike prior Five Ten camp fours I have had that ran small.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Comfy BootVerified Buyer Reviewed by AZ_Hiker from Flagstaff on Tuesday, October 10, 2017These fit true to size. Decent width in the toebox (I wear a 2E), but could use a little more height in there for the big toe. This is probably so that it can be stuffed into cracks for some light rock climbing, etc. As usual, there's a trade-off for everything. Decent breatheability, but not super airy. Sticky rubber great on a variety of surfaces. For everyday hiking and approach use, a great shoe. Recommended!
