I wear a five so could not order a size small. I took the chance anyway. They are great, I am sure they will last a long time the way they are made. -

The materials, especially on the inside of the shoe, are great. However, I am contemplating if I should return them. I followed instructions and ordered a full size smaller. I read the reviews and most of them suggested that the shoe runs large. Now, after trying the shoes on, I agree with one of the reviewers saying that the length of the shoe is okay, but the toe box feels small. I think I should have ordered only 1/2 size smaller. Unfortunately, this size is no longer available. If I know for sure that the shoes will stretch a little, I might keep them.

I wanted some European style sneakers (why are most sneakers so ugly these days?), and these caught my eye. While not as low-profile as I had hoped, they reminded me of a lot of the skateboarder styles I used to wear, AND I will be able to hike in them. I ordered a whole size down from mine, and they are still a little loose, as I have very narrow feet with obnoxious bunions. However, two pairs of socks help. Soon I’ll add an extra insole which will also help. I thought the high back of the shoe that covers the Achilles heel would bug me, but it’s actually quite comfortable. These look rad, feel good on my messed up feet, and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments. They’re definitely keepers.

The recommendation was to purchase a full size smaller which I did. There was still ample room. I couldn't get it to snug up tight enough and there didn't seem to be any arch support. The shoe was stiff, but I think it would have been loosened up if it had fit better. I had to return it. It looked cute on.

My previous Hanwig that are now worn out were made in Germany. These made somewhere else. I returned these. Not worth the money that these are listed for. They do run big. US 7 1/2 are listed 39.5. These European shoes sizes are off. 39.5 should be 8 1/2

Probably ordering 1/2 size smaller is best. STP customer service was outstanding and didn't charge me for returns or shipping since I followed the STP recommendation for size. However, I don't think the price, even with the STP discount, is commensurate with the product. With the same order I purchased a 2nd pair of hiking boots which were $70 cheaper and felt great on the first 8 mile hike.

I normally wear a 6-1/2 but ordered a size 7. I probably need a size 6. It is now posted to order a full size down but too late for me since my size is no longer available in a color I can use. Otherwise very nice and exactly the kind of walking boot I was looking for.
