It's incredibly stretchy and soft and could look good on it's own, but I purchased it to use primarily as a base layer under sweaters. It does the job of keeping me warm and the neckline doesn't interfere with the neck of most of my sweaters. I will have to get another one before the "close-out" is closed out. I would describe this as light-weight.
I got a medium and am 5'7", 133 lbs, fairly short-waisted, 34B, and it fits loosely, not form fitting or hugging, but not so loosely that it's weird or bunching under fabrics. I like this

So lovely that I came back to order two more of this top, as well as a pair of the black Ibex Woolies bottoms. Black v-neck long-sleeve t-shirts are the backbone of my winter wardrobe. With three of these gorgeous shirts, my wardrobe is good to go. I am 5' 11", 160 lbs, 36B, usually a small/tall or medium, and sized up to a large. It fits perfectly - not skin tight, not overly loose. The striped shirt is fantastic too but won't be in constant rotation as this shirt will. I highly recommend both shirts and will keep checking back for other colors of this Ibex v-neck top! Thank you thank you thank you, Sierra Trading Post!

I'm 5'8" and wear a size 16. The XL is plenty long, I'd say 28 inches. The sleeves are a bit long for me, but not too much, the cuffs are great, can fold over or push up and they stay. If you're on the shorter side, this top may be too long for you in an XL. Perfect for us taller gals. I like that it is 100% merino. Soft and warm, thin but not sheer. So many makers are now blending their merino wool, which I don't like the feel of. I have numerous Icebreaker and Smartwool long sleeve tops and this is my new favorite!.
