Lowa Tiago Gore-Tex® Mid Hiking Boots - Waterproof, Nubuck (For Men)

Went on a 10 mile hike in the Shawnee National Forest right out of the box. Boots performed flawlessly. Very comfortable and break in time was minimal. Fit true to size. I normally were 11.5's and these fit perfect in 11.5. Great buy at $89.99. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

I ordered these boots because I wanted a lighter weight boot for hiking, working, and hunting. Specifically for times when I was not carrying a heavy pack or traversing rough, rocky terrain. The form of Lowa boots usually fit my feet. I've learned to order one size larger, and with that in mind, these fit perfectly with mid weight wool socks. They were comfortable out of the box. I don't expect them to last for many years, I just expect them to feel wonderful on my feet for a year or maybe more.

Overall quite impressed with the boots. Appear to be very well made. Amazingly light, yet very supportive in the ankle. Soles grip very well. Very comfortable right out of the box. Recently took them on a 9 mile backpacking trip with roughly 35lb pack weight. I did not break the boots in prior to taking them on the hike.

Toe-box is very narrow. I have narrow feet to begin with and they are borderline too narrow for me, So if you don't have narrow feet, these may not be the boots for you, or at least order them in wide. The narrow feel does work well for me and supports my high arches quite well. They also limit any "slop" in the boots so I really feel like my feet are not moving around at all. I did get a few hot spots on the heel where the stitching for the gortex liner is, no blisters though, which I was surprised at. I am hoping this will go away as they break in further. Lacing system may take a bit to get used to as well, but it makes taking the boots off a breeze.

All said and done, for the $100 I spent on these, I would be hard pressed to find any boot on the market with this type of quality. These are not made in china, vietnam, india, etc. like most of the big brand names. Lowa sources all of their materials in the EU and they are made in Slovakia, this is a huge plus in my book!
