It has the texture of a soft sweater. I would give it 5 stars EXCEPT if you cozy up under it, wearing for example, leggings, you are likely to find a large amount of the wool has come off and stuck to the leggings! This blanket sheads like a dog! Don't know if that sheading will eventually end, but for the price, I'll accept that drawback. Especially because the blanket is like pulling on a warm, cozy, albeit lightweight, sweater. Also, from a decorative standpoint it looks nice.
