1.0 out of 5 stars. Poor QualityVerified Buyer Reviewed by Tim from MA on Monday, March 16, 2015When I first got this jacket I was very happy with the thick material and fit. After only a 2 months, the velcro that secures the main zipper flap started to pull off. If the the velcro at the wrists isn't secured perfectly together, it will to shred the jacket material. I don't think the jacket will last half a season.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great ShellVerified Buyer Reviewed by Paddles from Utah on Tuesday, March 3, 2015This is a great shell packed with features. With STP pricing and coupon discounts, it was a very worthy purchase. Fit is true to size. Size medium fit my 5'10" 165 body perfectly. Cut is generous enough to accommodate layering underneath for cold days on the mountain, without looking too loose for spring days where only a base layer polypro under the shell is sufficient. Love all the pockets to hold various sundries, and the fact that the powderskirt is removable is a nice bonus. Can't think of anything that I don't like about it.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Quality five starts; features lose three starsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from South Florida - otherwise, ski country on Saturday, January 24, 2015The quality of Marmot products is generally excellent, and the garment appears to be well-made with good materials. I have not used the garment but returned it. Size and quality were certainly acceptable, but the external pocket zippers are not waterproof, and the main zipper is not two-way. Inasmuch as I want pit zips and two way zipper on all skiing outerwear, this did not meet the requirements. Marmot may not make this jacket now, but they do make a similar jacket with waterproof external zippers. However, in talking directly with customer service at Marmot, it appears that they do not employ two-way zippers on their outerwear. It's a shame, because other than that, Marmot quality and features are excellent. FWI, in order to have the Gore-Tex outer shell I want, I purchased a similar garment from L. L. Bean that has waterproof outer pocket zippers and a two-way main zipper at a great price. Obviously, L. L. Bean is not a manufacturer, and all of it's L. L. Bean products are manufactured by contracted other companies on a private-label basis. They would not disclose the manufacturer of their Gore-Tex outer shell - it could be Marmot, or Mountain Hardwear - or someone else. But it meets my requirements.
I continue to do business with Sierra Trading Post, as their return policies and customer service are the highest level, and they carry a wide range of discounted excellent products. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Awesome ShellReviewed by SJRoss from Reading, PA. on Friday, January 9, 2015My last Marmot jacket lasted me ten years and it was time for an upgrade, with 35% off I couldn't beat this deal. I'm 5'10" 170lbs 34" waist, the large was a perfect fit. Medium was a little tight around the waist. This jacket is burly, I can easily see this shell lasting me as long as my old Marmot ski jacket. I bought the Freerider pants as well, it's a great set up. Great features and far more simple than my last jacket, which cuts doubt on the bulk. It fits loose, especially the pants (in the legs, not the waist) but that is what I was looking for. I have not had it for very long, but I have been impressed with its performance on very windy days, in 20-30F temp, wearing it over a t-shirt and Marmot Norheim fleece. Kept me very warm. Only gripe, no designated media pocket, but the inside pocket functions well enough as one.
