4.0 out of 5 stars. Close to PerfectionVerified Buyer Reviewed by DanG from LI, New York on Monday, August 31, 2015Good quality pack. Not 5 stars because it could be better. Some interior pockets are not practical for field use, looks more like a school backpack on inside.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Solid 38.82 Liter MOLLE/ PALS backpackVerified Buyer Reviewed by Davey Crockett from Tennessee on Tuesday, August 18, 2015PROS:
- Top quality materials; Strong 1000D Nylon. YKK Zippers. Double stitching where it counts. Bayonet clips/ buckles are strong and impact resistant. Heavy duty in all respects.
- Standard "Coyote Tan" color like the military issues.
- Heavy duty bathtub bottom.
- Very cushion-y, comfortable and breathable padding on both shoulder straps and back panel.
CONS:
- Like the Medium Tactical Backpack (which I also own), this pack could really benefit from an internal frame or frame sheet. Boyt Harness, however, does not make one. Luckily, you can actually find a great frame sheet like I did that's Made in The USA by Spec Ops. The "Spec-Ops Brand T.H.E. Pack Frame" is made for the Spec Ops "T.H.E. Ultimate Assault Pack" but fits perfectly inside the Boyt Harness Large Tactical Backpack rear hydration compartment. This absolutely helps comfort and stability.
- PALS webbing is spaced too close together on the large rear compartment. Should be exactly 1". Instead, closer to 0.5", which will scrunch up your attachment webbing, and make it more difficult to remove/ attach..
- The 1" PALS webbing (in my humble opinion) should've/ could've been a full five rows for more attachment versatility. Instead, only two rows, then a huge space for the Boyt logo, then one more row.
- Very little in the way of internal organization/ pockets/ compartments; Although, sometimes simple is good, and is actually sufficient for my use. The beauty is you can always add more PALS/ MOLLE pouches, etc.
BOTTOM LINE:
Fit and finish are B+, but hey, it is made in China. Truly solid as if it were built for WW III. Feels very ergonomic and comfortable, but much better when adding an internal frame sheet. Great size at nearly 40 Liters, makes a great day pack or overnight bag. And with the PALS capability, you can go crazy with extra attachments, including a sleeping bag, for those extended adventures.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Top Quality Army BackpackVerified Buyer Reviewed by Gattuso the Snarling Pig from New York, NY on Wednesday, October 10, 2012The bag generally exceeded my expectations. It is durable, roomy and looks authentic except there is no "wear and tear". The strap system is great for all types of activities and sizes. It is also a great pack for a bigger guy/gal.
- Best Uses: Camping, Daily commute, Hiking, Travel
- Cons: Could use more pockets, Very Plain Jane
- Pros: Adequate pockets, Good functionality, Quality construction, Substantial Interior Room, Top Line Zippers
