1.0 out of 5 stars. NopeReviewed by briansimply from Utah on Friday, December 21, 2018Paired this with the Blackburn Interlock Saddle Bags. I assumed that because both products were made to work together, the fir and finish would be perfect. The engineers forgot that when you paint an object, the clearances diminish. Forcing the support rods through the attachment points left huge swaths of paint being rubbed off. Oh well, just aesthetics. Then it came time to attach to the frame. The bottles provided are too long for braze-ons, so i need to purchase shorter bolts. Had it all set up and then put the Blackburn Saddle bags on.
Design flaws became even more evident. The attachment points for the bags did not match the supports on the rack. I made it work with some creative velcro-ing. The saddle bags did not nest into the locking panel well either, so you really had to push down on it. Went out for the inaugural and within 4 blocks the locking mechanism popped free and the panniers slid back into my spokes, tearing the saddle bag. Reset, pushed the piece back down, heard 2 clicks, pushed up on it to ensure it was locked, and took off again. On the way home, it came unlocked again and I needed to stop and push it back on.
Took it out for another ride, went to secure everything at the pool and the lock wouldn't stay closed. I thought I had it closed, pushed up, and the bracket holding the lock on broke, rendering the entire system inoperable. So long story short, after 10 days of ownership, I returned everything to Sierra for a full refund.
