Coleman Plaid Flannel Shirt - Long Sleeve (For Men)

They should call this shirt the Costanza. It's a magical shirt that instantly transforms from a large to a medium in just one wash. I gave it two stars because if you are able to anticipate the change in size and order a size up, it is not a bad shirt. It just shrinks like $12 flannel.

I wouldn't pay full retail or sale price on these shirts only because they have the "growing American population" cut (designed to fit a lot of people--i.e. accommodate the large, rounder figures and the less round can still wear them too), which is a solid business decision, but not the best for the less round. I -would- pay retail for these if they were cut closer to my specs though. I like these, but beware that they can shrink like a fantasy fad diet! At least in my experience they -will- shrink a size even if you wash them in cold and no heat at all--just tumbling them dry, and they'll shrink at -least- two sizes if you wash them in hot water and use high heat in the dryer (at $10/ea I ran that experiment in light of another review that seemed a bit extreme ... turned out it wasn't--so my wife got two of these as lounge shirts).

Bottom line ... these issues are easy to navigate, and these shirts are worth a lot more than what Sierra asks for them.

I was pleased with the overall shape of the shirt. I ordered a large (which definitely runs a bit small) after reading another review that explained his shirt shrunk. I hang my flannel shirts to dry, so I don't think it will shrink much.

By the 3rd washing, following the tag instructions to the letter, my XL shirt was a MEDIUM...
Just not wearable any more.
Bought the BLUE/GREEN PLAID, BTW....
