5.0 out of 5 stars. Solid all-round freshwater reelVerified Buyer Reviewed by Brandywine Angler from Brandywine Valley, PA on Thursday, June 20, 2019Recently picked up the Cheeky Cydro 1500 spinning reel for $49 because I was curious—was it a good reel or not. Had it out for an evening fishing session a few days ago (spooled with 10 lb test Berkeley Unifilament line—it holds a bunch) and was impressed. The 1500 is a good size for general freshwater fishing. I would say it is comparable to a 2000 size from Shimano or the Pflueger President 6930. Reel appears well made and solid. Feels smooth. Bail works as well as any I have ever used (and I currently own about 15 spinning reels and have been fishing with spinning reels for over 40 years). Line lay was perfect. Can’t speak to the real world performance of the drag since I have not yet catch any bigger fish with it that really tested the drag, but from manually activating it it seems fine. Time will tell on that and on reliability, but I would say thumbs up at this price point. Video with my review of the reel is on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/jX0nz2HkO20
