It's like a mix between new car smell and burning electronics. Ugh, god, I hope the new flip flop smell wears off soon because they are soooo comfy. Well, mostly --the in-between-the-toe part is a little abrasive but not as bad some flip flops I've owned. I'm not sure why Patagonia didn't continue with the squish upper part down the toe but I'm sure they have their reasons. The shoes are super cushy, though!

They are so comfortable, have decent traction and support, the colors are nice and versatile. I usually like Reef for a good flip flop, but I think these are even better.

My daughter who has the same problem(but has heel spurs type) loves them. I love these sandals. I wore these all day around the house. (Our weather gave us 60 degrees a week or so ago, from the 20-40). My feet didn't hurt. They are also cute, I think. I am so happy I can wear flip flops again. The only other pair of flip flops I could wear was a certain type of Adidas that I can't find anywhere. I am switching to patagonias.

Ordered an 8 and they fit great. Comfortable and will get great use this summer. The colors are great and the arch support is all I need in a basic flip flop to wear to the beach.
