Substantial weight, tightly woven cotton fabric with a soft hand. Does not fade or droop. Wash inside out, cold water in a mesh bag. Par dry in the bag then lay flat. This sweater has been finish dried on a suit hanger and does not develop those annoying shoulder bumps. The houndstooth pattern gives it a little color and texture and the accent piping that set it apart for other similar items. My teen aged son liked the first one so much, we purchased another. A big plus is since it is a cardigan, he can don it without messing his hair!

The woven houndstooth pattern adds depth and texture. The fabric is substantial but not too thick. A tight weave that holds its shape without drooping. Washed in cold water and no discernable shrinkage or fading. The colored piping adds a dash of color. My son wore it for many days until finally it was spirited away to the laundry.

I was looking for a causal sweater and this actually looked better with a dress shirt than it did with a t-shirt or polo. I did get two compliments at work, that's a step up for me. The sweater is not as heavy as some cotton sweaters are, is more tightly woven than most. The tighter weave makes the fabric feel good and well put together.
