5.0 out of 5 stars. Built for purposeReviewed by Karl from Victoria Australia on Saturday, November 25, 2017Use these for what they're meant for and you'll be happy. Lightweight and comfortable i didn't notice i had them on. Wore them for a trail half marathon to keep the sand out on a couple of beach sections and they did the job perfectly. Not a grain of sand got in my runners. the rest of the course was a combination of groomed and non technical trail They stayed in place really well without the velcro attachment but i think the underfoot cord will wear and break in time, not a big problem to replace methinks. I'm confident enough in them to try them on technical rocky trails but not with flat soled runners as the cord will surely shred.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Good in warm, dry climatesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Michael from Mountains from Oregon on Wednesday, October 18, 2017Because of the design, it is more effective to tie the line under the sole, but to do so is very difficult. I figured I would get some 1/4 inch bungee cord and make several sets so that, when one broke, I'd have a replacement when I needed it. But then I read an Outdoor Research report on Gaiters that included these. They really don't come up high enough for winter and they aren't waterproof. When they get wet, they sag. Realizing they wouldn't meet my needs, I opted for a different model by the same company, and returned these, despite the fee.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Way SmallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from NC on Sunday, October 1, 2017These were very small. I wear size 10 men's and I ordered the medium gaiters but when they arrived I found I could not even begin to pull them on over my shoes and they have no zipper for that purpose. They also were much more flimsy than the pictures make them look.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Anti-tick warfareReviewed by Rayhull@aol.com, not want tin from Rensselaer, NY on Monday, February 24, 2014I bought these to use for shooting and other brush-beating to help ward off ticks. Not sure how well they'll do, but they have to be an improvement over simple socks.

2.0 out of 5 stars. So tight!Reviewed by Croz from Michigan on Friday, February 21, 2014I am petite...5'2" and 110, and theses were so tight on my legs that I had to cut the cord that cinches them at the top. I can wear them now without them cutting off my circulation. I wear them on my trail running shoes to run snowy trails in Michigan. Unless you have very thin lower legs, these will probably be too tight.

5.0 out of 5 stars. lightweight gaitersReviewed by Anonymous from Rocky Mtns. on Monday, September 30, 2013There are some gaiters available that are lighter, but at 2.7 oz, these are plenty light! A double hook system firmly attaches them to the laces, and the silicone dots holds them securely to the heel. I used them hiking on a rough trail without affixing the Velcro or the strap, and they stayed put no problem. If I were post-holing through deep snow however, they probably would have worked lose without the extra retention, but these are not the gaiters I would choose for those conditions. In short, a good all-around gaiter for three season use.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Light duty only; not for hardcore hiking and backpackingReviewed by Nick from Pennsylvania on Thursday, June 13, 2013These gaiters might be perfect for running on easy trails, but they are not suited to hiking on substantial, rocky trails. I used them on a day hike up to Mts. Pierce and Jackson in the White Mountains and these things got shredded. The seams split open and the cordage got mangled into threads. To their credit, Outdoor Research set me up with another product. I highly recommend the company - just don't buy these and expect durability.
