5.0 out of 5 stars. Great poles overall- especially for the price!Verified Buyer Reviewed by KnoxDave from Knoxville TN on Monday, April 13, 2015I was looking for a set of trekking poles with cork handles, this type of locking mechanism and lightweight. I just recently used these polls on a hike to the top of Mount Lecont in the Smoky Mountains. It was about a 12 mile round trip hike with some pretty rough terrain and steep elevation climbs and decents. These polls performed admirably – they were very lightweight and they never gave way. Exactly what I was looking for – can't imagine a better pair for the price. Another great product – thanks sierra trading company!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Worked great!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New York City on Monday, March 23, 2015Got these for a trekking trip to Patagonia to replace a pair of poles I bought years ago but seem to have misplaced. After some research these seemed every bit as good as the top-rated Black Diamond models, yet less expensive.
Worked great. I went with aluminum having decided the extra ounces was not worth risking a pole snapping under pressure.
Quick adjust mechanics solid.
Adjustment of handle straps took a little getting used to but worked fine. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Great polesVerified Buyer Reviewed by INDY from Indiana on Monday, March 16, 2015Light weight, easy adjustment, have good legible markings for adjusting to your proper height. These collapse very short. Only drawback is that the wrist straps are not padded at all.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice poles, great priceVerified Buyer Reviewed by JAM Day Hiker from New York on Monday, February 23, 2015Pleasantly surprised by the deep red color. Love the cork handles too. Seems durable, but lightweight. Much softer and more comfortable than the plastic grips. My last pair of poles had the old style twist lock which as it got older never seemed to say in place, so I am hopeful with this pair. I will use it snowshoeing (comes with baskets) as well as hiking in the warmer weather.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Dwayne from California on Saturday, February 21, 2015No color choice on these, and mine came in bight red. They'll be hard to misplace and hey... I'm not trying to impress anyone on the trail anyway. Well made, light and I'm sure they'll last for years. If you're not worried about color coordinating your wilderness ensemble, go or it!!

4.0 out of 5 stars. Nicely built productVerified Buyer Reviewed by Leroy from Michigan on Wednesday, February 18, 2015First, these are incredibly and easily adjustable. They also have convenient markings showing where you should extend the poles to for specific heights.
I haven't really had a chance to take them out on the trail; the cooooooold weather is keeping me from using them. I can't wait to take them out when the snow melts. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Great BuyReviewed by Schwetty Balls from PA on Tuesday, February 17, 2015These are my first Trekking poles. Very sturdy, quick to adjust, and comfortable grips. I am very pleased. Only downside is you can't pick the color, but at this price it is a non issue, and oh yeah.... they're trekking poles...who cares!

5.0 out of 5 stars. My first trekking polesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Cathie from Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio on Tuesday, February 3, 2015These are the first trekking poles I've ever owned so I did a bit of research and got some advice from friends who hike with trekking poles before making my purchase. The power lock system is great -- easy to adjust and they stay put. My friend has an earlier model Komperdell with the twist lock and the power lock is definitely a plus. The cork handles versus the foam -- I definitely like the feel of the cork, although I've not tried poles with foam handles. And the last thing I considered was carbon versus aluminum -- I'm definitely happy with the aluminum. The poles are light and sturdy. A couple of things to note: make sure you put the baskets on right. I thought mine were own but then my friend looked at them and I did not have them on all the way. The power locks may be loose when you get them -- you'll know right away because in the locked position they aren't tight and the poles may slide. All you have to do is tighten the screw on the power locks but be sure not to over-tighten (they sort of work like a quick release on the front wheel of a road bike -- too loose and it doesn't hold, too tight and you can't close it). Last thing, mine are red (and silver) instead of the color shown, so they're pretty nice looking poles.
