This a colorful and light sleeping bag. I'm taking it on a backpacking trip in January (so can't confirm the warmth yet...)

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Can I Rate If I Haven't Used in 20 F?

Bought for a winter trip down the Grand Canyon but that's in 2 months.
As always, great prices from Sierra!

Feels well made and is comfy inside.
After a while in the SoFlo weather, it does get unbearably hot so I may need to turn my AC way down to see if I can simulate the freezer-like conditions this sleeping bag is supposed to withstand.
Also, colors are very bright. I might not need a night light in my tent after all.
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Tight

First off, I'm a big fan of Marmot - great quality design and value, so I really wanted to love this bag. But for me this bag is too tight at the upper torso/chest. I'm broad chested/stocky, but not huge, but when I lie on my back, my arms are pressed tight against the side of my body for a claustrophobic effect. Side sleeping is a bit better. Also, the zipper does tend to snag. Like I said, wanted to love it and the colors are really cool. I'm trying to find out if the long version has a more generous upper body cut.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
