Lasted less than a monthReviewed by Mariana from Utah on Tuesday, January 24, 2017I got this shoes for my boy and the cord started cutting the cord loop and in less than a month three were broken, also the front of the shoe where the toes are became unsown. I really had better hopes for this shoes. Both shoes I got had the same outcome.

This is something I have done in the past with success. I wear a ladies 7 in Salomons and this one is size 6 in a youth. While the fit is not quite the same, they work well and value makes the slight difference worthwhile.
Although I have not worn them yet, I am a huge Salomon fan. I have owned several pairs and currently wear two pairs while trail hiking, including long distance hikes. They are sturdy, comfortable and look nice. They are wide in the toe box, which is vital for me while hiking, as I am susceptible to blisters. These are my first "youth" purchase in Salomons, but I am confident they will not disappoint.

No tight spots, blisters, or complaining on camp hiking days, or on our backpacking trip. The laces are not bungee, so you have to loosen the slide to get them on and off, which, you know, is the equivalent of murder to an 8 year old, but, you know, get over it. The shoes themselves are great. Good lugs, good sticky bottoms, support, comfort--it's all there!

He sent me a "Thank you" note stating that he likes them much better than the ones his parents had purchased for him. ( ha) He wears his shoes out quickly, especially the toe area, so we'll have to wait and see how these hold up. I purchased them because of the sturdy looking front and the colors. I know he likes shoes with colorful soles.
