The instructions say it can go in the dishwasher. I put it in with a small load and no other dishes touching it. When I pulled it out part of the rim on the pot was missing. My dishwasher was set on "light load". It was not in a position where it bounced around. It will do the job I need it for;

They are a great size for almost any family sized soup, stew or even serving vessel. I've used them to deliver meals to family and contents stay warm with the lid. They are typical of spotted enamelware and are NOT heavyweight. They work best, with less tendency to burn on the bottom, if used with low to medium heat and frequent stirring.
