5.0 out of 5 stars. Warm!

Our house is often chilly, so we wear down vests a lot. My husband has a couple of the packable weight, and was complaining about them not being warm. He's hardly taken off the Marmot since he got it last week. We both love it: really warm, puffy, fabric feels good, a small assortment of pockets inside as well as zipped handwarmer pockets outside, and the tapered shape looks great on him. No report on the weather-proofing yet. The tiniest complaint: We separately noticed that there's no locker loop, and if he ever takes it off, it lives on a handy clothes pole where he can grab it easily; oh well. A real find, especially at STP prices, and more especially with a 30%-off deal.

My husband wears a 2XL. While this 2XL vest fits, it is a little bit tight, but still feel comfortable. It's very warm.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice warm middle weight vest!

I recommend this vest for anyone looking for a middle weight vest that has a substantial amount of insulation. The collar is high enough to provide warmth while blocking wind yet is soft and comfortable. Quality is top notch and I am very pleased with this purchase. Shipping was fast and the item was packaged in a box which I prefer to items that are shipped in plastic bags that are mangled and dirty by the time they arrive. Return labels are included although I had no need for them. I find this vest to be very warm and comfortable without being bulky. 5 Star Purchase!

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Quality w Excellent Value at Extra Promo STP Discount Prices.

Came as advertised. Those who want a down vest that feels like it has more bulk/filling then the ultra thin packable down vest will like this one. The high neck was wonderful (it you like high necks like me). Looks moderately durable. Easy to work zippers. Only problem for me was the color 'GATOR' didn't match the 'GATOR' color on another Marmot Zeus vest I purchase which was more an emerald green which I loved. So I'm returning this one. Returning only because of color not quality, fit or price. But that's why I only buy on-line clothing/boots/ski equipment from Sierra Trading Post. Their American based call center and phone support staff is fantastic!! Their return policy more than understanding and flexible....it's Great. Their policy allows me to try things on in my home for family members to review without any restrictive return time pressure policy's. In the end I purchase everything from STP and 3x more than what I need because of their fabulous special promo discounts.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
